Step 1: Request a ProctorU exam
Before the semester begins, contact CODL at 864-1000 or with information about your exam, such as your desired testing date(s), the number of students in your course, the time limit for each exam, and the password for your exam in Blackboard (exams must be in Blackboard and passwords must be assigned to use ProctorU).  We will set up your exam(s) with ProctorU and create an exam information page in your Blackboard course for student reference.
Step 2: Provide exam materials
At least 10 days before the exam date, upload the exam(s) in Blackboard. We can assist with exam creation and the uploading process in Blackboard. Please include applicable instructions for the exam: study aids allowed (textbook, calculator, notes, etc.), maximum time limit for the exam, and password protection.
Step 3: ProctorU will administer the exam
Students will log in to ProctorU on the date/time of their exam appointment. ProctorU will authenticate the students by reviewing their photo identification.  The students will be asked to use their webcam and microphone to reveal their testing workspace to ProctorU.  If the workspace is deemed appropriate, ProctorU will launch the exam according to your specifications. During the exam the students’ browsers are locked down so they cannot access other materials on their computer.  ProctorU monitors the students throughout the exam and reports any suspicious behaviors or incidents.  If an incident is observed, CODL will send the ProctorU Incident Report to you for review.  Completed exams will be available for grading in the Blackboard Grade Center.

If your instructor has assigned a ProctorU exam, the following information may also be found in the “Taking Exams online with ProctorU” folder, under the EXAMS tab in your Blackboard course.
Step 1: Schedule your exam
Early in the semester, check the EXAMS tab in your Blackboard course to confirm testing dates.  If your online course exam schedule conflicts with another course exam, contact your instructor and CODL ( immediately.  Follow the instructions in your Blackboard course for contacting ProctorU to set up and pay for your exam appointment.  An explanation of the necessary equipment and acceptable testing environment will be provided in your Blackboard course.
Step 2: Take the test
On your scheduled date/time for testing, log into your ProctorU account to check in with the proctor.  Once a proper photo ID has been shown and the testing environment has been approved, the proctor will launch your exam in Blackboard.  When you are finished with the exam, you will submit it in Blackboard for grading.
