CODL Workshop Request

CODL is offering online workshops to schools and departments for instructors who are developing courses in online and hybrid formats at KU. It is important to know that online course delivery methods vary widely according to subject areas and particular course learning outcomes. Therefore we present fundamental aspects of quality course design in our workshop and welcome instructors to follow-up with us individually to address those unique needs for online activities and assessment.

The structure we present incorporates competencies identified by the Provost: writing outcomes, student assessment, engaging activities, and flexible formats.

  • Creating measurable course objectives that are mapped to activities and assessments in Blackboard.
  • Thinking through flexible teaching and engaging your students.
  • Considering issues related to accessibility.
  • Virtual tour of the media production studio on campus and tips on how to create video from your home office.

We will gladly adjust our structure and topics to address specific needs and requests, which we welcome you to share ahead of time using this form. We can provide the most efficient and effective use of your time by knowing instructors' most pressing questions and will address those or direct to other resources on campus.

*Please provide two possible dates and times that instructors can be available, with at least 7 business days notice to coordinate staff schedules. Two hours is a sufficient amount of time, and can be split between two sessions or combined into one.

Thank you!
